American poll: 49% support arresting Netanyahu in the United States

An American poll conducted by The Economist and YouGov shows that 49% of Americans support arresting Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he is on US soil, based on the International Criminal Court arrest warrant. Additionally, 47% consider Netanyahu a "war criminal," and 43% believe what is happening in Gaza is genocide.

A poll conducted by The Economist in collaboration with YouGov from July 25 to 27, 2026, involving 1,559 participants, revealed that 49% of Americans support arresting Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he is on US soil, based on the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. In contrast, 27% opposed it, while 23% were unsure. The poll also showed that 47% consider Netanyahu a "war criminal" due to the aggression on Gaza, 24% rejected this description, and 29% did not specify a position. Regarding the situation in Gaza, 43% viewed it as genocide, compared to 24% who opposed that view, and 32% abstained from answering. The results were published in conjunction with Netanyahu's visit to the United States and his meeting with President Trump. The International Criminal Court had issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant in November 2024 on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
