American initiative pressures Congress to halt military support for Israel

The group 'Track AIPAC' in the United States launched a new political initiative called the 'PEACE Pledge', aiming to urge members of the House and Senate to adopt stated positions that restrict unconditional US military support for Israel and limit the influence of pro-Israel lobbying groups. The name PEACE stands for 'Pledge to Enforce American Law, Confront Foreign Influence, and End War Crimes'. So far, three House members have signed the pledge: Ro Khanna (California), Rashida Tlaib (Michigan), and Delia Ramirez (Illinois). The pledge includes rejecting donations from AIPAC, DMFI, RJC, and CUFI, supporting enforcement of the Leahy Laws and Foreign Assistance Act to prevent military aid to countries accused of human rights violations, holding accountable officials who use US weapons in violation of international law, and opposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court. The organizing group continues a campaign urging citizens to contact their congressional representatives to sign the pledge.
