Qassem described these reports as "lies and blatant incitement" aimed at justifying the commission of further crimes against Palestinians. In a statement on Wednesday, Qassem affirmed Hamas's commitment to the ceasefire agreement, calling on mediators and the "Peace Council" to assume their responsibilities and work to stop the occupation's ongoing crimes and violations, which he considered a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement. He stressed the need for the parties sponsoring the agreement to act to ensure compliance with its terms and prevent the use of media allegations as a pretext to escalate tensions against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
