Alina from Ashkelon and her husband charged with spying for Iran

The Tel Aviv District Court has indicted 24-year-old Alina Kushnirenko and her 26-year-old husband Tamerlan Amshokov from Ashkelon on charges of spying for Iran. According to the investigation, the couple carried out tasks for a handler whom Amshokov contacted via Telegram, including surveillance and filming of sites in Ashdod, Beersheba, Haifa, Ramat Aviv, Eilat, and Jerusalem. The cooperation lasted from April to July 2026, with payment in cryptocurrency. The defendants confessed, confirming they suspected the illegality of their actions.

On Thursday, August 6, the Tel Aviv District Court issued an indictment against 24-year-old Alina Kushnirenko and her 26-year-old husband Tamerlan Amshokov from Ashkelon on charges of spying for Iran. According to the indictment, filed by attorney Oren Haim on behalf of the state prosecutor's office, the couple carried out tasks for a handler who contacted Amshokov through a Telegram group, introducing himself as Aslan. Amshokov agreed to perform surveillance, filming, and tracking tasks, and involved his wife. Payment was made in cryptocurrency. The cooperation lasted from April to July 2026. The couple gathered intelligence on various sites, including residences of security personnel, civilian and military infrastructure. They filmed sites in Ashdod, Beersheba, Haifa, a shopping center in Ramat Aviv, the promenade, port, and naval base in Eilat, and the Mount Herzl area in Jerusalem. Amshokov got scared and did not complete the task at the naval base. Other tasks, including renting an apartment in Haifa to install a camera, were not completed. The couple was arrested in Beersheba. The defendants initially denied knowledge of working for Iran, but later confessed, confirming they had serious suspicions of illegality from the start.
