Ismail Al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, confirmed that the relevant government bodies in the Gaza Strip are committed to harnessing all their capabilities to ensure the success of the legislative elections, which President Mahmoud Abbas set for November 28. In an interview with "Filastin" newspaper, Al-Thawabta stated that the relevant bodies have begun taking practical steps, most notably providing logistical and administrative facilities to enable the Central Elections Commission to perform its duties freely and transparently, and supplying it with comprehensive and updated data from the civil registry and databases of licensed civil associations and institutions. Al-Thawabta described the elections as a "firm national entitlement" and an opportunity to activate institutions and enhance popular participation. He warned that Israeli occupation violations and gunfire directly affect the safe environment and cause emergency changes to citizens' residential areas, but he affirmed that government institutions are working to prepare field conditions despite these exceptional circumstances. He noted that Hamas, through political bureau member Hussam Badran, announced its participation in the elections within the broadest possible national coalition.
