Israeli airline Air Haifa has announced the launch of a new international flight from Haifa Airport to Thessaloniki, Greece. Flights will begin on October 25 and will operate twice a week—on Sundays and Thursdays—as part of the winter schedule. One-way ticket prices start at 89 euros and depend on booking date and availability. The new route will allow residents of northern Israel to fly to Greece without a layover at Ben-Gurion Airport. Thessaloniki remains one of the most sought-after destinations among Israeli tourists, especially in the autumn-winter season. At the same time, the company reported a significant increase in passenger traffic: in July, about 58,000 people used its services, nearly double the figure for the same period last year. For comparison, in June the carrier served about 45,000 passengers. After the launch of flights to Thessaloniki, Air Haifa's route network will include flights to Larnaca, Paphos, Athens, Rhodes, Crete, Mykonos, Karpathos, Eilat, and in winter also to Sofia. The expansion comes amid recovering demand for air travel in Israel.
