Air Canada suspends Tel Aviv flights until next year

The decision comes amid heightened travel warnings from the Canadian government for several Middle Eastern countries, including Israel, due to rising tensions between the US and Iran.
Canadian airline Air Canada has once again delayed the resumption of flights to the Middle East, removing Tel Aviv and Dubai from its route network at least until mid-January next year. This decision extends the current restrictions by about three months compared to the previously announced schedule, when planes were expected to return to Israeli airspace as early as late October. The company's management emphasizes that the international flight schedule is constantly reviewed in light of the current operational situation in the region, and the resumption of passenger service will only be possible after a detailed assessment of all safety factors. These measures come amid stricter official warnings from the Canadian government, which has advised citizens to avoid non-essential travel to several Middle Eastern countries, including Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, where a level three danger has been issued. Tensions in the region have significantly increased due to a new round of confrontation between the US and Iran, posing direct threats to the stability of civil aviation and international flights. Similar restrictions and travel advisories now officially extend to Israeli territory as well, due to heightened security risks.
