Ahead of the start of the school year, a survey by the Geocartography Institute and the Manor Center among a representative sample of about a thousand parents reveals a worrying picture of widespread harm to Israeli students following the 'Roar of the Lion' war. Nearly 90% of parents report academic harm, 74% report social harm, and over 80% report emotional harm. The harm is felt most strongly in the state-secular and state-Arab education systems. Students who suffered from frequent class cancellations in the past year due to teacher shortages suffered a double blow in the emergency: 77% of them were severely harmed academically compared to only 37% among those whose routine was maintained. Only 22.4% of all parents express satisfaction with the Ministry of Education's performance during the war. Parents express distrust in the solution of remote learning and prefer a complete closure of the system in an emergency and the return of school days at the expense of vacations, or learning in small groups in shelters with their regular teachers. In the Haredi education system, the data is dramatically lower: 63% report no social harm and 45.5% report no emotional harm.
