Again at the 'democracy' festival in Norway: pro-Israel organization's tent vandalized and broken into

During the weekend at Arendalsuka, Norway's largest political festival, the tent of the pro-Israel Christian organization "Israel for Peace" (MIFF) was vandalized again. According to the organization, the perpetrators not only sprayed graffiti on the walls but also entered the tent and damaged its contents. Local police said they collected security camera footage and removed the suspects from the area. This is the second time within a year that the tent has been vandalized during the festival. In August 2025, Line Khateeb, leader of the Palestine Committee in Norway, was recorded changing the inscription on the tent to "for genocide." Her case ended with a fine of 6,000 kroner and payment of compensation to the organization of 3,261 kroner. The organization responded sharply, writing that "enemies of democracy and freedom of expression should never win in Norway." Eitan Halon, the charge d'affaires at the Israeli embassy in Oslo, attacked: "When words fail, what action will the government take?"
