After Yuval Kogan drama: Another drowning fear at 'Hofit' beach in Ashkelon

Large police and rescue forces are operating this evening (Saturday) at Hofit beach in Ashkelon, following a report received at the 100 emergency hotline about a suspected drowning. Upon receiving the report, Ashkelon station police officers, maritime patrol units, volunteers, rescue units, and emergency and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. The forces began extensive searches in the sea and along the coastline. This is the same beach where another dramatic incident occurred over the past weekend, when 4-year-old Yuval Kogan went missing, raising serious fears that he had drowned. After hours of searching, the child was found safe and sound. Police are calling on the public to observe beach safety rules and follow lifeguard instructions.
