The IDF's response comes against the backdrop of US President Donald Trump's reference to the issue during his meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House. When asked about the Lebanese army's claim, Trump replied, "We'll look into it." According to the military, IDF forces identified a Lebanese army force with an engineering vehicle that crossed the security zone by about 150 meters and broke barriers in the Zoutar al-Sharqiya area - contrary to agreements. The IDF emphasized that it demands the Lebanese army continue to act in accordance with understandings and in agreed areas. Meanwhile, the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar reported that the IDF blew up a large commercial center on the outskirts of the town of Kunin.
