According to the documents, Bezos intends to sell 15 million common shares with a total market value of approximately $4.07 billion, based on yesterday's closing price. It also shows that the shares were acquired as founder shares in 1994. CNBC notes that Bezos has regularly sold Amazon shares in recent years, often through pre-arranged plans. The SEC filing also noted that he donated 220,000 shares to nonprofit organizations in May.
