After the fierce battles in Gaza and Lebanon - a new generation of fighters arrives at the Nahal Brigade
The August draft of the Nahal Brigade begins today (Sunday) with the absorption of hundreds of new recruits. The brigade commander, Col. A., welcomed them and said they are arriving at a historic time, as the brigade is at the forefront of the War of Revival. He emphasized the legacy of fallen fighters and the human advantage. The brigade has operated in Gaza and Lebanon since October 7, and its previous commander, Col. Jonathan Steinberg, was killed in battle.

A., spoke with the recruits and said: "You are joining the Nahal Brigade at a historic time. In recent years, the brigade has been at the forefront of the War of Revival, and continues to fulfill its purpose as a fighting, pioneering brigade." He added: "Behind us stand fighters and commanders who fell in battle, and their story is the story of our people. A long and challenging path awaits you, and alongside you are some of the best commanders and fighters, who are committed to investing in you and building the next generation of fighters. Everyone has quality weapons, but only we have the human advantage." Nahal fighters have earned great appreciation in the Swords of Iron War after taking part in fighting in Gaza and Lebanon. On October 7, the brigade commander, Col. Jonathan Steinberg, was killed in battle during an encounter with terrorists near the Magen and Kerem Shalom junction. The brigade suffered many casualties during the defense battle and led some of the hardest maneuvers in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
