After the attack in Havat Gilad: IDF maps terrorists' homes in Tel village ahead of demolition

The IDF and Shin Bet have mapped the homes of two terrorists in the village of Tel in Samaria, as a preliminary step toward their demolition, following the attack in Havat Gilad in which Maj. Yuval Ezra and Binyahu Melat were killed. The attack occurred after Israeli hikers entered Area A without coordination. Netanyahu and Katz ordered tough punitive measures, including military action and weapons confiscation. Meanwhile, a wave of nationalist crime by settlers erupted in Palestinian villages, and the Chief of Staff reinforced forces and imposed a closure on Nablus.

The IDF and Shin Bet announced this morning (Sunday) that security forces have mapped over the past day the homes of the two terrorists involved in the shooting attack in Havat Gilad, in which Maj. Yuval Ezra and Binyahu Melat fell. The mapping is intended for temporary sealing and future demolition of the homes. One terrorist was eliminated at the scene; the other fled and was arrested at a hospital in Nablus by the Duvdevan unit. The attack occurred after Israeli hikers entered the area of the village of Tel in Area A without coordination. Following the incident, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz instructed tough punitive measures, including military action, weapons confiscation, and revocation of work permits. Simultaneously, a wave of nationalist crime by settlers erupted in Palestinian villages, with arson and stone-throwing. Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir reinforced forces in the Judea and Samaria Division to 24 battalions and imposed a complete closure on Nablus and a curfew on the villages of Burin and Tel. Central Command Chief, Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, held an urgent discussion with settlement leaders and warned of escalation.
