MK Almog Cohen responded to Itamar Ben-Gvir in an interview with 103FM, rejecting the claim that Ben-Gvir did him a favor. Cohen said: 'He is a good man, a loyal public servant, but I don't think he did me a favor. I did him a favor; on the budget night the government could have fallen, I was the 61st finger. No one did me any favors.' These remarks were made ahead of the Likud primaries, in which Cohen is running. He described his campaign as a three-day campaign, compared to others who worked for four years, and said: 'I received a mission, I am a fighter and I bite into it.' In response to Eyal Berkovich's jab about his ticket, Cohen mentioned the protection law that put Abu Latif in prison and the law to deport terrorists. Berkovich claimed that 55% of southern contractors pay protection money, and Cohen replied that this is a phenomenon that cannot be ended in one day. He also mentioned the bravery grant to residents of the Gaza envelope and the airport in Beit Kama that will bring 15,000 jobs. Cohen expressed opposition to 'combinations and juntas' in the party, and described Likudniks as 'ideological guys, lovers of the land, the salt of the earth.' He emphasized his preference for people who work for the people of Israel over those who 'scream in courts and in the media.'
