The exercise, held in Wisconsin, featured a CH-53K helicopter manufactured by Lockheed Martin-Sikorsky demonstrating the recovery and transport of an F-15 fighter jet. The test was part of a course for recovering damaged aircraft, involving 85 military and civilian personnel. The CH-53K "Fara" helicopters are intended to replace Israel's Yasur helicopters and offer high survivability, heavy lift capacity, a digital cockpit, and low operating costs. The first of 12 helicopters for Israel is in final assembly in Connecticut and is expected to arrive in 2028. The Israeli Air Force seeks to purchase eight additional helicopters, but the Finance Ministry opposes, and the committee has not approved the procurement.
