At the end of the hearing, a decision will be made whether Eliasi will end his role as commander of an emergency response team in Tel Aviv. In parallel, three police officers, including an intelligence coordinator, were questioned on suspicion of aiding and providing police leniency to a nightclub owned by Eliasi's brother. All four were questioned under warning and released under restrictive conditions; the officers were banned from police facilities for three days, and Eliasi for a week. Police Commissioner Danny Levy decided last week to suspend Eliasi, following a Haaretz investigation that revealed Eliasi exploited his connections in the police to obtain leniency for a club on Rothschild Boulevard, in which he was commercially involved. The investigation brought recordings in which he boasted: 'I educate them there in the police that no one can touch this club.' His lawyer, Ariel Atari, stated that Eliasi intends to cooperate and explain that he never exploited connections.
