Actor Mark Ruffalo strongly denies accusations of antisemitism leveled against him by Paramount. The conflict began after Ruffalo, who opposes the Warner Bros Discovery acquisition by Paramount-Skydance, shared a video of Oracle executive Safra Katz and attacked Oracle founder Larry Ellison, father of Paramount CEO David Ellison, who is helping finance the deal. Paramount accused Ruffalo of using "antisemitic imagery." In response, Ruffalo stated that "the accusation that I am antisemitic is shocking and fundamentally dishonest," clarifying that criticism of the Prime Minister of Israel, a military technology contract, or the executives behind it is not criticism of Jews. Several Jewish organizations, including the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Anti-Defamation League, joined the criticism against him, while actor John Cusack came to his defense. Ruffalo is a prominent voice in Hollywood against Israeli policy and the war in Gaza.
