After 26 years.. Muhammad al-Durrah's image returns to Egyptian curricula

The image of the Palestinian child martyr Muhammad al-Durrah has been included in the history curriculum of the Egyptian Baccalaureate system, 26 years after his martyrdom during the Second Intifada in 2000. His father, Jamal al-Durrah, welcomed the decision with feelings mixed with pride and pain, considering that immortalizing Muhammad's story transcends the honor for his family to become a reminder of the suffering of Palestinian children and martyrs. Al-Durrah called on Egyptian students not to treat the image as a mere historical scene, but to evoke the human story and suffering behind it. He expressed his appreciation for Egypt, its leadership and people, and the Ministry of Education, considering that including the image contributes to keeping the Palestinian cause present in the consciousness of new generations, and reflects the depth of historical ties between the Egyptian and Palestinian peoples.
