This morning, Kan News reported that a number of advisors brought into the intelligence organization by Mossad chief Roman Gofman were connected to and involved in a civilian project. According to sources familiar with the matter, these advisors also participated, in an extremely unusual manner, in the forum of division heads (Rasha), the Mossad's equivalent of the General Staff Forum. It was also reported that the advisors underwent a process of conflict-of-interest arrangement and security clearance. Last week, Gofman dismissed two senior officials in the organization: the head of the Intelligence Directorate and the head of the Iran Division. According to a report on Channel 12, the move caused shock within the Mossad, and it was claimed that it was carried out due to the failure of the operation to replace the regime in Iran, despite the fact that the operation was led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu together with former Mossad chief Dedi Barnea and his deputy, who was then head of a division and has since been dismissed. A former senior Mossad official attacked the decision: "The event is not even at the bottom of the Mossad's ethical ladder."
