Adi Shot by Police on October 7 - Family Demands to Reopen the Case

The family of Adi Ohana, who was accidentally shot dead by police on October 7, demands to reopen the case and investigate why body cameras were not activated. Adi Ohana was accidentally shot dead by police on his way home on October 7, 2023. His family claims the investigation was negligent and demands to examine why body cameras were not activated and who is responsible for the failures. Already in 2024, the family filed a petition to the High Court of Justice to investigate the circumstances of the death and the conduct of the officers. In 2025, the family again approached the High Court, demanding completion of the investigation in the case, and that the case be re-examined with a demand to prosecute the officers who led to his unfortunate death. In the police response, it was stated that some officers went on duty without body cameras, and some, who were equipped with cameras, did not activate them in real time, so there are no visual findings that can be transferred to the family. The High Court is expected to decide whether to order completion of the investigation.
