The owner of Skin Beaute Med Spa salons in Randolph and South Easton, Padneley, had been posing as a licensed nurse since 2021 without any medical education. She convinced clients of her qualifications, offering botulinum toxin and filler procedures, but purchased counterfeit products from China and Brazil. From March 2021 to June 2024, she conducted over 2,700 procedures. More than 900 clients paid her over a million dollars. Many victims suffered severe swelling, infections, sagging and paralysis of facial and eye muscles, vision problems, and hard nodules under the skin. Some required hospitalization, one woman needed reconstructive surgery that left a scar. During searches, counterfeit drugs with dangerous bacteria were seized. After arrest and release on bail, she performed an injection at her home. In April, the fraudster pleaded guilty to four counts of illegal importation of goods and four offenses related to the sale of counterfeit medications. The judge sentenced her to 46 months in prison, two years of supervised release, and ordered her to pay $1,001,562 in compensation.
