A year after finishing his term at the Budget Division: Yogev Gradus's new role

Yogev Gradus, former head of the Budget Division at the Ministry of Finance, has been appointed head of the Finance and Business Development Division at infrastructure company Shapir. He will begin the role in September after completing a cooling-off period. Shapir reported a 21% increase in revenue in the second quarter of 2026.

Yogev Gradus, who ended his tenure as head of the Budget Division at the Ministry of Finance in August 2025, has been appointed head of the Finance and Business Development Division at infrastructure company Shapir. He will begin his new role in September 2026, after completing the required cooling-off period. Gradus served in the senior position at the Ministry of Finance from August 2021, a period marked by external crises, including dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the war that broke out on October 7, 2023, as well as tensions with the political echelon. Shapir, traded at a value of 15.3 billion shekels, reported strong results for the second quarter of 2026: revenue rose by 21% to approximately 1.68 billion shekels, gross profit increased by 24% to about 224 million shekels, and net profit surged by 135% to around 108 million shekels. The company, controlled by the Shapira brothers, operates in five sectors: industry, infrastructure, real estate, logistics, and concessions. It intends to bid in tenders for the metro project, estimated at 180-200 billion shekels. Shapir's stock has risen by 37% since the beginning of the year.
