Civil ambulance officer Ahmed Abu Foul lost thirty members of his family when the Israeli occupation army targeted their home near Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Beit Lahia project in northern Gaza. Abu Foul was at work when he received the news, and could not reach them due to the Israeli ground incursion. After the forces withdrew, he dug with his hands and pulled out the bodies of his father, his first wife, four of his sons, and other relatives. He continued his work despite the pain, and refused to evacuate until he buried his loved ones. During the war, he was injured and targeted several times, and lost 22 kilograms due to famine. After the ceasefire in October 2025, he moved south with his daughter Ala and his second wife. He insists on continuing his humanitarian work despite the difficult conditions.
