A week and a half have passed since the last contact with Keteriel Nahman Kinan, 24, from Beit Shemesh, last seen near Guy Beach on the shores of the Sea of Galilee on his way to Safed. His brother Daniel told ynet that Keteriel sent a message to their mother saying he had no battery on his phone and asked not to worry, and has since disappeared. Police have called on the public to assist in the search, and the last cellular ping was received in the Tiberias area. Security camera footage showed Keteriel entering and leaving the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness. Brother Daniel described intensive search efforts including scanning cameras, foot searches of areas and abandoned buildings, assistance from dog handlers and drones, volunteers, and missing person units. He asked anyone who thinks they saw Keteriel to take a photo and remember the location on Google Maps. The area between Safed and Meron has been previously dubbed the "Israeli Bermuda Triangle" due to a series of disappearances in the area over the years, though police emphasized there is no common denominator between the cases.
