A new and disturbing threat to Israel - the real goal of bin Salman and Saudi Arabia
A new defense alliance between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, signed in Mecca, is intended to send a message to Iran. The alliance, based on the principle of collective defense, reflects frustration with American guarantees. Experts downplay concerns that it is meant to encircle Israel.
An investigation published in the British 'Telegraph', reviewed by Maariv, reveals one of the central goals of the new Islamic defense alliance, which includes Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. The alliance, signed in Mecca, is based on the principle of 'all for one, one for all', reminiscent of NATO's Article 5. The agreement aims to send a clear message to Iran, perceived as a central threat to Sunni states. Researcher Yasmin Farouk notes that the choice of Mecca was intended to convey a message of sanctity to the alliance. Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, emphasized the defensive nature of the agreement. The establishment of the alliance reflects growing frustration with US security guarantees. Egypt is considered a natural candidate to join, but has not yet decided. Experts, including Joseph Rosen from the Misgav Institute, downplay concerns that the alliance is meant to encircle Israel, as the member states remain allies of the US.
