About two weeks after the murder, Ahmed Alrajoub, 23, from Ramla, remains in custody, and police say the suspicion against him has strengthened. Today, Judge Oshrit Huber Heiman of the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court extended his remand by nine more days. Police representative, Chief Inspector Hatam Darwish, argued in the hearing that this is a most serious incident and described the main suspicion: the suspect arrived at the lawyer's office with intent, shot him, and fled to the Ashdod station. Police said that since the previous remand extension, about 50 investigative actions were carried out, including taking testimonies, checking cameras, and laboratory work, many of which strengthened the suspicion against Alrajoub. In contrast, Alrajoub's defense attorneys, lawyers Oren Sasson and Moshe Yamin, criticized the conduct of the investigation and the fact that despite the 12 days of remand granted in the previous hearing, the suspect was not questioned again. They raised claims about his mental state and argued that he is unfit to stand trial. The judge ruled that the suspicion has strengthened, but only partially granted the police request to extend the remand by 15 days, ordering nine more days.
