A Covenant of Partnership and Mutual Responsibility: New Cooperation Agreement Between Ichilov and Majdal Shams
Ichilov signed a cooperation agreement with the Majdal Shams Council to provide telemedicine services, establish a rehabilitation center, and support science education. The agreement was signed by council head Dolan Abu Salah and comes against the backdrop of the disaster in which 12 children from the town were killed by a Hezbollah rocket nearly two years ago. Ichilov's director general, Prof. Eli Sprecher, emphasized the importance of the partnership and mutual responsibility.
The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) signed a cooperation agreement with the Majdal Shams Council yesterday (Wednesday) to strengthen the residents of the north. Under the agreement, Ichilov will provide advanced telemedicine services to the town's residents and will work with the council to develop and establish a dedicated rehabilitation center in Majdal Shams, making quality medical services accessible close to home. Additionally, Ichilov will support research activities and science education for children and youth at the existing science studies center in the town. The agreement was signed by council head Dolan Abu Salah in the presence of Ichilov's management team, who were given a tour of the town. The connection between the parties intensified after the disaster in which 12 children from the town were killed by a Hezbollah rocket at the soccer field nearly two years ago. Some of the injured children were treated and hospitalized at Ichilov for many months. During the tour, the management team visited the memorial to the children that was dedicated just days ago. Ichilov's director general, Prof. Eli Sprecher, said the connection grew out of difficult days of pain and became a "true covenant of partnership, values, and mutual responsibility," adding that they see it as of utmost importance to make advanced medicine accessible to every resident. Council head Dolan Abu Salah said it was their honor to host the medical center's management, who have become a real family, and expressed hope that this is the beginning of a brave partnership.
