He describes a mission in the Sabra neighborhood south of Gaza City where he worked with eleven members to rescue a family, from which the team emerged with only seven members after the martyrdom of Ala Omar and the injury of three others. He also recounts saving a child named Youssef Aweidah from under the rubble of a house in a border area, despite threats from the occupation army to withdraw, where he refused to leave and insisted on pulling him out alive. Among the hardest decisions was rescuing an elderly woman trapped under the ceilings of three floors in the Sahaba area, where he used a cutting machine to sever her legs to save her life. He speaks of the occupation's deliberate targeting to obstruct rescue operations, and bypassing coordination refusals to reach families trapped near the Abu Mazen roundabout. He mentions the severe shortage of equipment, as teams dug with hammers and pickaxes, and ambulances broke down. He reveals deep psychological effects, including the sight of a pregnant woman martyred in a school in the Zeitoun neighborhood with her fetus moving outside her body. He also lost his mother during the war without being able to attend her funeral. Despite all this, he insists he does not think of leaving the agency he joined in 2008.
