Police announced today (Tuesday) that they arrested a 75-year-old woman on suspicion of placing glue in the lock of the 'Cafe Basimta' coffee shop in Jerusalem last Saturday. In addition, the woman is suspected of spraying graffiti on the cafe's wall and dumping trash at the location. A court released the woman under conditions prohibiting her from entering the cafe and requiring her to stay at least 30 meters away for 180 days. In recent weeks, the cafe has been at the center of a Haredi protest following the owner Yoel Ben David's decision to operate the establishment on the Sabbath. Last Saturday, the cafe's security cameras recorded a woman arriving at the location and applying glue to the entrance lock. During the afternoon, dozens of Haredi protesters arrived for another demonstration in front of the business.
