64-year-old knocked to the ground and violently kicked by minors over crosswalk dispute

A 64-year-old resident of Kiryat Gat was knocked to the ground and violently kicked by two minors after a dispute over a crosswalk. The driver admonished them, and when he got out of his car, he was attacked and injured in the head. Police arrested the suspects, and they will be brought today for a remand hearing.

Last night (Sunday), a report was received at the 100 hotline of the Israel Police about a violent incident on a street in Kiryat Gat, during which a 64-year-old resident of the city was attacked and injured in the head. According to suspicion, two minors passed near a crosswalk and the driver admonished them. When he got out of his car, the two began to beat him, and even after he fell to the ground, they continued to kick him, causing injury to his head, and fled the scene. Police officers from the Kiryat Gat station located and arrested two minor suspects, residents of the city, and they were transferred for questioning. The suspects will be brought today before the court in a request to extend their remand. The commander of the Kiryat Gat station, Superintendent Shai Elali, stated: "The officers of the Kiryat Gat station acted quickly and decisively to locate the suspects and arrest them shortly after the incident. The Israel Police views any manifestation of violence with severity and will continue to act to exhaust the law with those involved, in order to maintain public safety and well-being."
