51 injured, over 60 detained, and 7 shops demolished in Qalandia and Kafr Aqab

Israeli occupation forces withdrew from Qalandia camp and the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, after a two-day military assault that resulted in dozens of injuries, arrests, and extensive property damage. The Jerusalem Governorate documented that Red Crescent teams handled 51 cases, including 38 beatings that were transferred to hospitals, 6 treated on site, one rubber bullet injury, and 6 cases of gas suffocation. The occupation forces carried out arrest campaigns that affected more than 60 Palestinians, including children and women, with indications that the actual number is higher. The forces turned homes into military barracks and detention centers, took over the headquarters of the popular committee and the office of the Jerusalem Governorate, and demolished 7 commercial shops and a vehicle wash facility. The governorate accused the occupation of collective punishment, asserting that the facts refute the Israeli narrative. It also noted that the camp holds strategic importance in colonial plans, including the Atarot settlement and other projects aimed at redrawing the geographic and demographic map of Jerusalem.
