The first cohort of the IDF's 'Erez' program completed its three-year training track, and its 41 graduates received Erez wings at a ceremony held on August 7, 2026. The program, designed to train a new generation of ground commanders, included training at the Golani Brigade's basic training base, a commando track, a bachelor's degree, advanced military courses, and operational experience in various sectors. The graduates are expected to continue to officer training and integrate as commanders across the ground forces. At the ceremony, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Tamir Yadai, and the program's head, Brigadier General (res.) Yuval Bazak, spoke, emphasizing the program's importance and the graduates' role as pioneers. Major General Yadai said, "You are the first to go out from it to the battlefield." Brigadier General Bazak added, "The program is your product."
