37 Palestinian journalists are held in Israeli occupation prisons, 51% of them under administrative detention, according to the Prisoners' Club. The Israeli occupation holds 37 Palestinian journalists in its prisons, all of whom were arrested since the start of the war on Gaza. The Prisoners' Club revealed on Sunday that 19 of them (51%) are under administrative detention in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, which is detention without charge or trial based on the so-called 'secret file'. The detained journalists, according to the club, face a repressive system including torture, abuse, forced disappearance, and deprivation of basic rights, the same practices that all other prisoners endure. This escalation comes within a systematic policy aimed, according to the club, at concealing the truth, besieging the Palestinian narrative, and intimidating journalistic teams to prevent documentation of crimes. The Prisoners' Club called on international human rights and media institutions to urgently intervene to provide protection for journalists and pressure for their release.
