This is the second consecutive year of increase in the number of tickets for this offense. Tel Aviv leads with 2,567 tickets in the past year, followed by Jerusalem with 2,037, Ashdod with 1,157, Holon with 713, Ra'anana with 580, Hadera with 500, Herzliya with 369, Tiberias with 326, Netivot with 267, and Yavne with 211. About 45% of the tickets were recorded on urban roads (12,442) and about 55% on intercity roads (15,483). Attorney Yaniv Yaakov, CEO of the Or Yarok association, said that crossing a solid dividing line is one of the most dangerous traffic offenses, and that infrastructural changes should be made on accident-prone roads, such as installing separation barriers.
