3 years equal 30 years.. unprecedented attrition exhausts the occupation army

Military analyst Alon Ben David from Maariv reveals the extent of attrition facing the Israeli occupation army after nearly three years of war, noting that the air force has conducted sorties equivalent to nine years, and the amount of ammunition used equals what was used in the previous three decades, with human losses reaching 1,138 dead and about 11,730 wounded.

Military analyst Alon Ben David from the Hebrew newspaper Maariv reveals the unprecedented extent of attrition facing the Israeli occupation army after nearly three years of war, on both human and military levels. According to a special translation by the Palestine Online website, the Israeli air force has conducted sorties over the past three years equivalent to what it conducted during nine years of routine activity. Thousands of tank engines and armored personnel carriers have also been consumed. The amount of ammunition used by the army during the war is estimated to equal what was used during the three decades preceding its outbreak. On the human side, the army has lost 1,138 soldiers, and about 11,730 others have been physically and psychologically wounded, with a warning that official figures may not reflect the full extent of psychological repercussions. The army faces a severe shortage of manpower and a decline in the desire of permanent service members to continue. An average of 53,000 reserve soldiers serve daily, imposing increasing burdens on soldiers, their families, and the economy. The cost of reserve forces alone during one month of last year reached about 2.1 billion shekels. The army is currently deployed in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and the West Bank, increasing pressure on the reserve system and financial resources. Ben David warns that the continuation of this situation threatens to exacerbate the crisis of manpower and resources, calling for reducing the size of forces deployed in some areas.
