19 cities worldwide to protest Wednesday to bring aid into Gaza

19 cities worldwide, including Istanbul, are preparing for synchronized protests on Wednesday, the World Humanitarian Day, demanding the entry of aid into besieged Gaza. This was announced by Osman Nuri Kabaktepe at a press conference in Istanbul, noting that Israel is violating the ceasefire agreement which stipulates the entry of 600 trucks daily.

19 cities in various countries, including Istanbul, Turkey, are preparing to hold synchronized protests next Wednesday, August 19, coinciding with World Humanitarian Day, to demand the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, which Israel is besieging and organizations describe as committing genocide. The announcement came during a press conference held by Turkish civil society organizations in Istanbul on Monday, attended by the head of the Palestine Support Platform, Osman Nuri Kabaktepe, who explained that the protests will be organized in 19 cities around the world at the same time, without announcing the names of the other participating cities. Other Turkish association heads participated in the conference, including Kemal Özdal from the Sadaka Taşı Association, Ahmed Gökçen, Secretary-General of the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), and Mehmet Cengiz from the Deniz Feneri Association. Kabaktepe said that history has not witnessed the deprivation of civilians of their basic needs to this extent, stressing that this is about a right, not a favor. He pointed out that tens of thousands of civilians have lost their lives as a result of Israel's practices in Gaza, and that children, patients, and women cannot access food and medicine. He mentioned that Israel is violating the ceasefire agreement signed on October 10, 2025, which stipulates the entry of 600 aid trucks daily into the Strip. He affirmed that they want to end this violation and raise a cry for humanitarian aid. This announcement comes amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where residents suffer from a severe shortage of food, medicine, and fuel.
