A 17-year-old girl from Ohio, missing for nearly nine months, was found alive at the home of a former teacher from her school. Family members say they alerted the police repeatedly that she was being held there, even presenting photos showing her at the home of 48-year-old Job Binkley, a former science teacher in the Springfield district. According to them, police dismissed the information, claiming there was "not enough evidence." Only after 263 days did authorities raid the home and locate her. Binkley was arrested and charged with interference with custody of a minor, but was released on bail and pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor noted that without the girl's cooperation, the charges could not be upgraded. Binkley's past includes complaints of inappropriate behavior toward students, leading to his dismissal in February 2025.
