16-Year-Old from Beitar Illit to Be Indicted: Threw Palestinian Woman to the Ground and Abused Dog with Plastic Pipe
Police announced that in the coming days an indictment will be filed against a 16-year-old from Beitar Illit for assaulting a Palestinian woman and brutally abusing a dog in Masafer Yatta in the southern Hebron Hills. The teen, who fled for about two months, was located with his family at Kibbutz Sde Boker. His parents are suspected of obstructing the investigation.
Police announced today (Monday) that in the coming days the prosecution will file an indictment against a 16-year-old from Beitar Illit for assaulting a Palestinian woman and brutally abusing an animal. The attack occurred in late May in the Masafer Yatta area in the southern Hebron Hills and was documented by local residents. According to police, the teen arrived at noon with his donkey, damaged property, threw to the ground a Palestinian woman holding her young son, and then struck a dog hard with a plastic pipe. Following the documentation, an investigation was opened, and the teen was identified the next day as a resident of Beitar Illit temporarily living at a nearby farm. He fled for about two months, and last Wednesday he was located with his family at Kibbutz Sde Boker in the Negev. His parents were questioned on suspicion of obstructing the investigation. A prosecutor's statement was filed ahead of the indictment by the Southern District Attorney's Office. Police said they will continue to act against violence toward people and animals.
