The aircraft had departed from Pisco airport for a standard sightseeing tour over the Nazca Plateau, but contact with the control tower was lost just minutes after takeoff. The exact cause of the crash has not yet been established, and relevant authorities have launched an official investigation. The Nazca Plateau in southern Peru is famous for its giant geoglyphs—about 143 drawings of animals and birds, as well as thousands of lines and geometric figures.
